· One in three women experience psychological or physical abuse from their partners in their lifetime
· Police are called to around 200 domestic violence situations a day – that’s one every seven minutes on average
Women’s Refuge is an independent organisation that works to liberate women, children, families and whānau from family violence.
We work at many levels to help prevent and stop domestic violence. From direct contact with individuals and families through to involvement with local community and government agencies. We also give policy advice to Government as we are widely regarded as the experts in this field.
At the coalface of domestic violence we provide:
- education programmes and support services, information and safe housing to women, young people and children experiencing abuse
- advice to their concerned friends and family members.
Every time you book with Kiwi Karma, you are helping us to raise vital funds to keep women and children safe. We can’t do it without your generous support.
