It’s difficult to feel you belong if you can’t communicate with other Kiwis. For refugees and migrants, English is the key to life in New Zealand.
We help our newer Kiwis learn the language we all take for granted. Many people arrive after years spent in refugee camps – where they may miss out on formal education. For some, even picking up a pen will be a new challenge.
Over the past 40 years, we’ve trained more than 20,000 volunteers and helped over 60,000 refugees and migrants live better lives in New Zealand. Each year, over 6,500 people access our services and we train nearly 800 new volunteers. Most of our essential services are free or low cost.
Help us build a strong New Zealand where people understand each other and relate well.
By booking your hotel, motel or any other accommodation through Kiwi Karma, your contribution has gone towards helping refugees and migrants learn English so they can participate here in New Zealand.
