The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust contracts, funds, and promotes a professional air rescue and air ambulance service in the Canterbury and West Coast regions. Our air rescue service covers the largest single geographical area in New Zealand – watching over the lives of around half a million people.
In a life and death situation where every minute counts, air rescue may be a patient’s only chance for survival. From one day old babies to 90 year old men, to a rural farmer in a work accident to a tramping enthusiast having trouble in a remote area, the crew will be there in anyone’s time of need.
Since 1989 the region’s air rescue services have undertaken over 9,000 missions – they average 3 missions per day. Did you know that each mission costs an average of $8,625!!
CWCART is only 30% funded by our government. It is a completely free service for the patients. We rely on our community to support this air rescue service so that we can be out there saving lives every single day. We need you as much as you need us!
By booking your accommodation through Kiwi Karma you will help us save a life. Thank you for your support today.
